M&M to Decide On Ssangyong Bid Later
29 July, 2010 : Mahindra & Mahindra, India’s largest utility vehicles and tractor maker, has now announced that it would postpone a decision on whether to bid for troubled Korean carmaker Ssangyong Motor Co until closer to the August deadline.
Mahindra Earmarks Rs 8,600 Crore Capex for Next Five Years
29 July, 2010 : Buoyed by a robust 40.30 per cent jump in its net profit for the last quarter, M&M said that it will invest about Rs 8,600 Crore in the next five years for various purposes. The company reported a net profit of Rs 562.39 Crore for the quarter ended June 30 compared to Rs 400.85 Crore in the same quarter last fiscal.
Toyota's Global Sales in First Half Of 2010 Up By 16.9 Percent
28 July, 2010 : Toyota has announced that its global sales jumped 16.9 per cent in the first half of the year, as a recovery in the Japanese auto industry became stronger on increasing demand. The Toyota Group, including Daihatsu and Hino trucks, has sold 4,165,590 units in the six months of the year 2010. The global production of the company went up by 46.8 per cent to 4,356,597 units compared to last year.
Honda India Invests Rs. 250 Crore to Expand the Powertrain Facility
28 July, 2010 : Honda Siel Cars India announced an investment of Rs. 250 Crore in its Tapukara Plant in Rajasthan for the expansion of the power train facility. The powertrain facility, currently under construction, will be completed by the end of 2010 and will be utilized to manufacture engine and transmission components such as Cylinder Head and Cylinder Block which were till now being imported from Indonesia and Thailand.
